Foreign Exchange (FX) Dealer

Role Objective

The

FX Dealer

will assist the Senior Dealer / Section Head in ensuring the efficient operation of the FX section, in line with the internal policies and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will assist in providing FX solutions to customers within the approved limits and will ensure prompt execution of foreign exchange transactions and placement deals. The job holder will assist in maintaining the Nostro accounts in various FX currencies to meet the FX liquidity needs. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

Perform all activities, as assigned by the Section Head - FX, in compliance with applicable regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Assist the Senior Dealer / Section Head - FX in providing timely and competitive foreign exchange pricing for the Treasury Sales department and other internal stakeholders, as applicable after checking the availability of credit lines for the counterparty, as per the authority delegated. Assist in reviewing gap positions and ensure FX positions are within internal as well as Qatar Central Bank guidelines. Assist in monitoring and analyzing the market, enabling to trade profitable positions and provide recommendations to the Senior Dealer / Section Head - FX of possible opportunities in the market. Assist in accurate reporting of P&L figures for FX trading activities and revalue outstanding positions to Senior Dealer / Section Head - FX on a periodic basis. Perform daily generation of rate sheets for internal and external clients (if applicable), in compliance with internal reporting requirements in set formats. Perform manual input of the FX and interest rates in the core banking system, in line with the variations in market conditions, and notifying the corresponding branches on the same. Support in covering the major Asian, GCC and all other major nostro accounts at profitable rates in relation to FX sales executed through the various internal departments. Assist in preparing quotes for Interbank FX spot, forward and swaps to cover the fund requirement, in line with the risk and credit policies, and as per the guidance received from the Senior Dealer / Section Head - FX. Ensure prompt and regular monitoring of respective deal portfolio and assist in conducting cost-benefit analysis pre and post execution of deal transactions, furthering to achieve profitability / P&L targets. Escalate significant deal transactions related issues / concerns raised by internal / external stakeholders to the Senior Dealer / Section Head, as applicable. Maintain the list of approved FX currencies as directed by the Senior Dealer and / or Section Head and recommend the addition or deletion of permissible FX currencies based on market developments. Educational Qualifications

University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or Economics or any other related discipline. Master’s degree in management any other related discipline will be an added advantage. Experience

05-10 years of total experience in financial services / banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline. Experience in FX trading activities.
