Qualifications

Degree in Metallurgical Engineering (or Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge of Metallurgy).

Formal education in a professional college leading to an Engineering degree.

NDT Level-II (RT, UT, PT, MT).

Certified Lead Auditor Qualification.

Welding professional qualification (EWI / IIW or CSWIP or AWS / API).

Additional qualifications in Welding & Materials fields are desirable.

Certifications from reputed agencies in painting and Vessel / Piping inspection or other relevant subjects will be advantageous.

Very good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP knowledge is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience with Inspection & QA / QC activities in Offshore and Onshore Oil & Gas Industries.

Experience in Engineering Inspection & Testing of Pressure Retaining Equipment including Pressure Vessels and Piping.

Familiar with QA / QC aspects, Welding, Metallurgy, Materials, Failure analysis and multidiscipline inspection NDT activities in projects.

Skilled in various Welding processes and experienced in troubleshooting welding defects and alternate methods.

Preparation / review of QA / QC documentation (WPS / PQR, NDT procedures, etc.).

Experience in operating Petrochemical / Oil & Gas plants (preferred) or Fabrication Shop / Erection sites for Oil & Gas Projects; at least 5 years in a lead / supervisory position.

Knowledge of international codes, standards and specifications and reputed Oil & Gas sector company practices / project specifications.

Experience in QA / QC activities for material procurement (PR review, technical bid evaluation, pre-inspection meetings, coordination for TPI inspection at vendor).

Experience in qualification assessment of manufacturers / vendors / contractors including site verification and technical audits.

Job responsibilities

Provide competent technical reviews, audits and guidance for QA / QC inspection activities.

Evaluate Purchase Requisitions (PR) for pressure retaining equipment, parts and spares for correctness and completeness against drawings, specifications and codes.

Evaluate technical bids for pressure retaining equipment and related activities; provide comments / reports as applicable.

Maintain systematic records of review comments on PRs and Technical Bid Evaluations for documentation and retrieval.

Assist quality-related procurement matters, including material and equipment procurement.

Prepare inspection reports and communicate issues related to reports. Proficient with MS Word, Excel; knowledge of SAP is preferred.

Review vendor QA / QC documentation related to materials, equipment and fabrication.

Assist in the preparation of Scope of Work, Contracts and Purchase Orders from Quality / Certification and final documentation perspectives.

Evaluate Contractors and Subcontractors; provide recommendations.

Review and comment on Contractor documents (Quality plan, ITP, QA / QC procedures, WPS, Welder qualification records, etc.) related to modifications, repairs or maintenance projects.

Prepare QA / QC procedures and documents for repairs / modifications / replacements.

Plan and conduct periodic audits of suppliers and contractors’ Quality Management and control systems, providing technical evaluations.

Supervise QA / QC Inspectors and perform supervisory duties as established for the position.

Provide and supervise QA / QC activities (Welding / PMI / painting / NDT / hydrostatic testing) as per specifications and contract requirements for maintenance activities on company equipment or facilities.

Undertake additional inspection-related duties as directed by the Supervisor.
