Overview

Position at The Hamilton International School LLC – English Teacher – Permanent – Academic Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English instruction across the curriculum, promoting a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop a coherent and enriching English curriculum and contribute to wider school life through student mentoring and extracurricular initiatives (debating clubs, writing competitions, drama productions).
  • Set high expectations, create a safe and stimulating learning environment, and model positive attitudes, values, and behaviour.
  • Use data, assessment and differentiated lesson design to support all students—including those with special educational needs, EAL learners, and high‑ability students.
  • Manage behaviour, maintain consistent routines, apply a range of strategies, and promote good and courteous behaviour in accordance with the school behaviour policy.
  • Engage in professional development, collaborate on curriculum planning, assessment moderation, and contribute to the development of the English department.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers and stakeholders regarding student progress and well‑being.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from an accredited institution.
  • Required teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE and meet professional teacher education requirements of the school.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience and English is mandatory.
  • Proven knowledge of the English national curriculum, assessment methods and current pedagogical approaches.
  • Strong communication skills, organisational abilities and excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, welfare of children and a professional and ethical conduct.
