- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair wooden furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, partitions, wall panels, and other wooden structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and join wood materials according to design and specification.
- Install wooden flooring, skirting boards, ceilings, and decorative elements when required.
- Assist in minor masonry, painting, or finishing works related to carpentry projects.
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of existing furniture and woodwork across guest rooms, offices, and public areas.
- Repair or replace damaged doors, frames, locks, hinges, and handles.
- Refinish, polish, or re-stain furniture and wooden surfaces to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or breakdowns reported by other departments.
- Maintain all carpentry tools and machinery in good working condition.
- Ensure proper use, cleaning, and safe storage of tools after use.
- Report any malfunctioning or missing equipment to the supervisor.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with fire and safety regulations while performing carpentry tasks.
- Handle and store materials and chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets and company policy.
- Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff (plumbing, electrical, painting) to complete multidisciplinary tasks.
- Communicate effectively with the Engineering Supervisor regarding work progress and materials needed.
- Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices when assigned.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of professional experience as a Carpenter in a hotel, resort, construction site, or maintenance department.
- Proven experience with furniture repair, fabrication, and installation.
- Experience using carpentry tools, power tools, and woodworking machines safely.
- Familiarity with interior finishing work, wood polishing, and joinery techniques.
- Previous experience in hospitality or facility maintenance is a strong advantage.
