Principal Construction Engineer

Wood has an opportunity for a Principal Construction Engineer to join our team in Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for driving success on projects ranging from $100 Million to $1 Billion by developing effective construction strategies and processes, reviewing and managing subcontractors, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a key role within the Wood Doha office, delivering across study, FEED, and detailed engineering scopes of work. You will be responsible for executing construction engineering work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and / or project procedures, while maintaining safety and quality within the manhour, cost, and schedule targets.

• An undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in decommissioning.
• Demonstrable experience in oil and gas construction and decommissioning engineering throughout the project lifecycle, especially during Pre-FEED and FEED stages.
• Essential offshore experience.
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside the organization, across different cultures.
• Strong presentation and report writing skills.
• Proven leadership abilities in engaging, developing, and motivating teams in challenging environments.
• Decision-making skills and the ability to drive decision processes.
• Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, and standards, with the ability to manage contractors.
