H_subnet Universal School (HUBS) Qatar is seeking an Upper Elementary Teacher (G4-G7) for an immediate start. The provided pay range is CA$41,000.00 / yr - CA$58,000.00 / yr.

Responsibilities

  • Plan instruction at the yearly, unit, weekly and / or daily level, implementing school-mandated programs and strategies.
  • Use effective teaching strategies and resources to support instruction within curriculum guidelines.
  • Provide enrichment events and activities, including field trips and productions.
  • Communicate assignments and objectives to students in a clear and organized manner.
  • Diagnose, instruct, and evaluate the needs of students who are struggling to meet grade expectations.
  • Use assessments to monitor student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and the school administration.
  • Engage in discussions and planning with the Grade Level Team and across different grade levels.
  • Prepare formal report cards and engage in parent conferences.
  • Establish and maintain fair standards for student behavior and create a safe learning environment.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, on campus, and at school-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by school policy.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, including those focused on analyzing student assessment and data.
  • Communicate with colleagues, students, the school administration, parents, and the community in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Maintain a positive professional relationship with parents and inform them of upcoming events, behavioral issues, and student progress.
  • Display a willingness to understand and respect local culture and handle cultural nuances in a caring and respectful manner.
  • Participate in professional development organized by the school.
  • Attend Saturday school and after-school collaboration meetings as required.
  • Meet with parents of at-risk students as needed.
  • Perform duties outside of teaching, including prep work, entry assessments, staff meetings, and substituting for other teachers.
  • Obtain British Columbia teacher certification immediately upon signing the job offer letter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Teaching Credential / License required.
  • Experience in differentiated learning and student inquiry instruction is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in ESL education is strongly preferred.
  • International experience and a respectful attitude towards other cultures are necessary.
  • Benefits

  • Starting annual salary : CA$41,000 - 58,000, based on years of experience and qualifications.
  • Annual salary increase upon contract renewal.
  • Tax-free salary.
  • End of service benefit : 70% of one month's gross salary for every full year of service.
  • Furnished, air-conditioned housing.
  • Transportation allowance : CAD 4400 / year or use of school buses.
  • All utilities paid, except telephone and internet bills.
  • Economy airfare at the beginning and end of the contract.
  • Annual economy round-trip airfare to point of origin during summer vacation.

  • Reimbursement of excess baggage expenses.
  • The school will arrange and bear the Qatar government fee for visa, work permit, and national identification.
