Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic
Subject
Matter Expert (SME) in Supply Chain Management to support critical defense programs. This role requires deep knowledge of supply chain planning , procurement, logistics, in ve ntory m anageme nt, and supplier development within the context of military and defense environments. The SME will lead initiatives to optimize end-to-end supp l y chain performance , ensuring readiness , re s ilience , compliance , and cost-effectiveness across defense systems lifecycle s.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide expert guidance on all aspects of defense supp ly chain operations , including planning , sourcing, logistic s, and sustainment.
- Analy ze supply chain performance and develop strategies to reduce risk, improve efficiency , and ensure timely delivery of mission-critical materials and components.
- Lead the design and implementation of supply chain frameworks that align with program schedules , contractual requirements, and defense readiness objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering , production , procurement, quality, and program management teams to synchronize supp l y cha i n activities.
- Evaluate and manage supp li er performance , including audits , quality reviews, compliance with defense standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Suppo1t inventory optimization, demand forecasting, and lifecycle logistics planning for military platforms and systems.
- Ensure compliance with app li cable regulations such as FAR, DFARS , ITAR, and the Berry Amendment.
- Uti li ze ERP, MRP , and logistics systems to track and manage material flows and supply chain metrics.
- Advise on supply chain resilience, including contingency planning , cyber risk, and geopolitical sourcing concerns.
- Prepare and deliver reports, dashboards, and briefings for senior leadership , program offices, a nd government customers.
Requirements
Qualifications : Required :
Bachelor 's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in supply chain roles within the defense, aerospace, or government contracting sectors.Strong knowledge of DoD supply chain regulations, acquisition policies, and lo gistics frameworks.Proficiency with ERP / MRP systems (e.g. , SAP, Oracle) , logistics tracking tools, and data ana lysis platforms.Demonstrated success in leading supply chain optimization and risk mitigation initiatives.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Preferred :
Master 's degree in Supply Cha in Management, Operations, or Business Administration.Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CL TD, or PMP .
Experience supporting major defense acquisition programs or international military logistics.Familiarity with NATO supply standa rd s and global defense supply chain networks.Experience with digital supply chain tran sfo1mation, including AI / ML-based forecasting and blockchain in logistic s.
