Telecom Technician

for a national oil and gas operator in

Doha, Qatar . Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in telecommunications, preferably in ELV systems with relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil projects in ICT and ELV. Fluency in English is required.

Job Purpose The General Technician - CCTV Services is responsible for conducting, managing, and supervising the implementation, operation, and maintenance of CCTV services and related infrastructure. The role ensures 24 / 7 availability and delivery of CCTV services at HQ, with direct involvement in the operation, management, and technical support of CCTV systems.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and test CCTV and related ELV systems, either directly or by supervising contractors, following corporate standards, processes, and policies to deliver resilient and advanced CCTV / ELV solutions.

Commission and test structured copper / fibre cabling and related infrastructure for CCTV / ELV transport and connectivity.

Ensure high quality of hardware installations by internal and external contractors, complying with corporate standards, policies, and manuals.

Provide operational support, including preventive maintenance of CCTV systems and infrastructure, to prevent asset loss and service interruptions.

Maintain 24 / 7 resource availability by responding promptly to operational CCTV incident requests, minimizing disruption to CCTV services.

Secure CCTV infrastructure assets and records, applying established controls to preserve investments and maintain a safe, highly available telecommunication environment.

Make decisions related to the installation, commissioning, and operation of CCTV assets and services, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines.

Support the development of CCTV infrastructure standards, processes, and manuals, providing feedback for improvements.

Advise management on new initiatives, potential obstacles, and risks.

Requirements

Secondary education or technical diploma.

At least 5 years of technical experience in telecommunications, preferably in ELV systems, with relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil projects in ICT and ELV.

Technical certifications in CCTV, ACS, BMS, DIDS, AV / VC systems, ANPR, RBS, RFID, QMS, VMS, PGS, PMS, or related areas are preferred.

Excellent knowledge of structured cabling installation, termination, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Basic technical knowledge of ELV systems infrastructure, hardware installation, configurations, IP convergence systems, and services.

Advanced skills in configuring and troubleshooting specialized test equipment such as CCTV testers, Link Runners, network cable testers, multimeters, etc.

Strong PC skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
