Primary Purpose of the Job

Provide marine pilotage services to all types of vessels calling at QP operated ports. This includes navigation in approach channels, harbour movements, and offshore operations.

Required Experience and Skills

• A minimum of 10 years of seagoing experience as an officer of the watch, with at least 5 years on large vessels (VLCC, Capesize) as a Chief Officer or Master. Alternatively, 5 years of seagoing experience on large vessels as a Chief Officer or Master, plus 5 years as a Pilot on various vessel types.
• Thorough knowledge of international, national, and local regulations related to port operations and logistics, including familiarity with international maritime conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.
• Comprehensive understanding of managing large-scale port cargo operations, including adherence to port rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions in port operational areas.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, capable of executing and completing targets independently.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with individuals at all levels within QatarEnergy and externally.
• Innovative, self-starting leader with proven leadership capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a proficiency level of L5 in QatarEnergy English standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a team of maritime and port professionals, focused on achieving targets.
• Strong analytical and administrative skills.
• Ability to perform well under stress.
