The Chief Operating Officer (COO) Airports is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all airport operational functions ensuring seamless safe and efficient airport services in alignment with international standards. The COO drives operational excellence cost optimization passenger experience enhancement and regulatory compliance across airport facilities and services. This critical leadership role supports the CEOs vision by translating strategy into actionable operational plans and sustaining high performance across the entire airport value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Education & Certifications
Masters degree or MBA in Aviation Management Engineering Operations Infrastructure Finance Strategic Management or a related field preferred.
Certifications in ICAO / FAA Aviation Safety and Security preferred.
Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 20 years of professional experience with at least 15 years in senior management or leadership roles.
Minimum 5 years experience in the GCC region is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
In-depth understanding of airport operational workflows safety protocols and passenger service standards.
Strong expertise in systems implementation and operational analytics with familiarity in SAP AODB FIDS and BHS.
Proven track record in cost optimization vendor and service provider management and team leadership.
Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks (ICAO IATA) and regional compliance standards.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills is required.
