Overview

Provide legal support for QatarEnergy’s ship acquisitions and marine transportation activities related to the commercialization of LNG, crude & other liquid petroleum products, petrochemicals, chemicals & fertilizers, including the negotiation of all agreements related to (i) the acquisition & disposal of shipping capacity including sale & purchase agreements, shipbuilding contracts, charter agreements (time, voyage and bareboat), contracts of affreightment and container feedering contracts; (ii) vessel financing, and (iii) any ancillary services required plus the administration of those agreements and the management of all related claims and disputes, including price and charter rate reviews ("Shipping Activities"). The Shipping section will support three client groups : (i) QatarEnergy LNG Marketing; (ii) QatarEnergy Trading; and (iii) QatarEnergy Marketing and Trading.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for QatarEnergy’s ship acquisitions and marine transportation activities.
• Assist with the acquisition and disposal of shipping capacity, including sale & purchase agreements, shipbuilding contracts, charter agreements, contracts of affreightment and container feedering contracts.
• Handle vessel financing and any ancillary services required, plus the administration of those agreements and management of all related claims and disputes, including price and charter rate reviews.

Required Experience And Skills

Educational Qualifications

JD / LLB (or equivalent) degree at a recognized university.
