Project Director (Offshore)
to join our team in Qatar. This role creates delivery excellence across assigned project / program / portfolio of projects, providing certainty and confidence to the customer / project sponsor, and maintaining robust control of project scope, schedule, cost, and risk. The Project Director will specify and direct the implementation and completion of one or more major projects or programs, including managing safety, scope, cost, schedule, and risk, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance. Responsibilities include delivering projects / programs / portfolios to agreed scope, specifications, schedule, and budget, managing change, and maintaining customer relationships. The role often involves high complexity and risk, with multiple workstreams and significant financial considerations. Oversight of multiple project managers is required. Qualifications and Experience :
University degree (bachelor's or master's) in Engineering Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM), or equivalent certification preferred Over 20 years of broad and extensive relevant experience, including at least 10 years in project management, with successful management of major / complex international or remote location projects Strong technical skills relevant to the project scope Good experience in the related industry and locations Thorough knowledge of project success and benefits management Expertise in stakeholder management, including managing challenging stakeholders and coaching others Deep understanding of requirements management from creation to verification and linkage to business benefits Knowledge of workflow management, engineering ownership policies, globalization of projects, and tender processes Experience in managing multi-phase project budgets, including risk contingencies Expertise in risk management processes, including transposing risks into cost, time, and contingency estimates Advanced knowledge of vendor contracts and negotiation skills Ability to manage complex project start-up and communicate the project execution plan Understanding of dependencies and their integration into recommendations Experience in project performance improvement and recovery techniques Knowledge of supplier categorization and commercial acquisition strategies Understanding of information management requirements across project phases Ability to negotiate close-out terms with stakeholders Effective resource management skills Experience in risk management and financial forecasting
