Sr Field Service EngineerAt ABB we are dedicated to addressing global challenges Our core values care courage curiosity and collaboration combined with a focus on diversity inclusion and equal opportunities are key drivers in our aim to empower everyone to create sustainable solutions Write the next chapter of your ABB story This is a position with grade 13 This position reports to LBL Service Delivery Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role you will be responsible for executing medium to high complex service jobs projects with ABB standard processes quality standards and safety guidelines Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers proactive communication with both customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for penetration and expansion The work model for this role onsite This role is contributing to Process Automation Business Area based in Doha Qatar You will mainly be accountable for Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities Reporting unsafe practices and incidents Leading HSE activities at site Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing Service work according to customer order and expectation Clearing understanding of sense of urgency and care in the direct area of responsibility Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experiences and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations Working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base to improve system performance and operational performance improvements While onsite working with the customer to identify opportunities for improving the customers operations and eliminating pain points Planning and preparing site work for larger project team and manages related subcontractors at site Performing complex field service tasks identifies technical problems and makes analysis through remote or onsite activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform Coaching technicians and engineers and supervises complex site activities Supporting the certification process of associate field service engineers and field service engineers Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensures that all materials parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities Preparing all documents and customer reports to be signed by the customer representative Reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed Acting as a technical consultant in own specific area of expertise Proactively planning and executes work on a firsttime right approach with customers and ensures the job is done on time and on quality Identifying improvement needs and potential solutions for them in the way of working and the products in question and drives improvement actions in own area of responsibility Qualifications for the role Graduate Engineer in Electrical Equivalent EngineeringMust have minimum 8 years of experience of which at least 5 years as customer support project service engineer of System 800xA based safety systems preferably in Oil Gas Power Water industry Good handson experience in system 800xA based integrated control and safety system both hardware and software with AC800MHI librarybased application development project commissioningKnowledge of FSMS functional safety management system and valid Functional Safety certifications TUV FS engineer ABB certifications etc Knowledge of Functional safety technical standards IEC61511 IEC61508 and corresponding system engineering practice experience Hands on Experience in Industrial networking network switch configurationHands on experience in Cyber security for 800xA based systemsBe an analytical thinker selfstarter resilient and highly adaptable in line with ABBs latest advance service digital portfolioHands on Experience in industrial communication protocols like Modbus RTU TCP OPC etc BenefitsRetirement planMore about us We value people from different backgrounds Apply today for your next career step within ABB and visit www abb com to learn about the impact of our solutions across the globe MyABBStory
