About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Doha within the Rooms Division in Doha, the Rising Fan will have an 18-month intensive learning experience across a number of rooms departments. They will have the opportunity to complete three eCornell distance learning courses for further development. They will be coached and mentored by the Front Office Manager. They will have regular meetings with the Director of Rooms to check on their learning progress. By the end of the program, they will be able to manage confidently as an Assistant Manager level. The Rising Fan – Leader in training – Rooms will meet and exceed guest expectations by providing efficient and courteous Rooms Division service in accordance with Legendary Quality Experiences. The Rising Fan reports to the Rooms Division Manager.
Responsibilities
Enhance previous knowledge gained in school and internships and place it into practice. Understand and follow Mandarin Oriental’s in operational and administrative aspects of the departments. Follow the duty schedule and assure all tasks are completed at all times in a timely manner. Assure the back and front of house areas of all departments of Rooms Division are clean and tidy at all times. Identify areas for improvement in Rooms Division service quality through guest comments, guest satisfaction, and guest incident reports and share observations and recommendations with the Rooms Division Management. Identify departmental learning and development needs for all colleagues of the departments and share those with the Rooms Division Management. Support the Rooms Division Management to maintain a clear overview of PMS by carrying out regular checks on accuracy of the system. Perform and check all duties related to Shift opening and closing check list.
Qualifications
Completed Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality / Hotel Management from renowned global hospitality school Minimum 1 year of full time work experience Previous experience working in a Hotel or luxury customer focused environment would be beneficial Ability to understand guest needs and expectations and to deliver superior customer service
