Job Title : Procurement Coordinator
Location : Doha, Qatar (Office-based, Residential)
Contract Duration : Until 31 July 2028 (with possible extension)
Work Schedule : Full-time, 5 days / week, 8 hours / day
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Coordinator to support the successful delivery of a major offshore engineering project. The role focuses on managing procurement strategies, vendor performance, and procurement execution activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications, corporate procedures, and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive procurement management support during project execution to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and specification-compliant delivery.
- Oversee procurement activities throughout all EPIC phases including bid / award, buying, expediting, and inspection.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for Long Lead Items (LLIs) and ensure contractor scope aligns with project and corporate procurement procedures.
- Monitor procurement performance and report progress throughout project lifecycle in coordination with project services leadership.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on requisition progress and changes impacting procurement and delivery schedules.
- Follow up with contractors' procurement teams to ensure timely execution across buying, inspection, and delivery.
- Conduct market research to identify qualified suppliers and assist in vendor evaluation, audits, and compliance checks.
- Maintain and update vendor performance data and Preferred Vendor List based on execution feedback and lessons learned.
- Attend technical and commercial meetings as necessary to resolve procurement-related challenges.
- Ensure contractor compliance in spare parts management; oversee SPIR and SAP workflows to support timely parts delivery to end users.
- Participate in project close-out activities and contribute to continuous improvement by identifying procurement-related efficiencies and lessons learned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university.Experience
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in procurement for major offshore oil and gas projects.Familiarity with offshore EPIC project execution, ideally within the Gulf region.Deep understanding of procurement lifecycle including planning, buying, expediting, and inspection.Experience in developing and monitoring procurement strategies aligned with best industry practices.Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and supply chain risk management.Proficient in supplier site visits, inspections, audits, and vendor compliance tracking.Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
