Job Description The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all kitchen areas, utensils, tableware, and cooking equipment. The role supports the smooth operation of the kitchen and F&B outlets by ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans.
Ensure the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations.
Collect and remove trash and recycling materials from designated areas.
Operate dishwashing machines and ensure they function properly.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals; report shortages.
Assist kitchen and service staff with setup and breakdown of buffets or banquets.
Follow hotel safety and sanitation policies, including proper chemical handling.
Sort and stack clean dishes; deliver them to proper storage areas.
Handle all equipment carefully to avoid breakage or damage.
Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled (e.g., oven cleaning, grease traps).
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant is an advantage.
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and stand for long hours.
Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
