Senior Java Software Engineer

Overview

The Group Securities is a well-established investment organization working in the finance industry since 1989. It provides an array of investment services to more than 400,000 investors, with portfolios exceeding QR 100 billion. The company is licensed by the Qatar Financial Market Authority and is a member of the Qatar Stock Exchange, offering services as a brokerage firm including margin trading and liquidity provision for listed shares and ETFs. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend services using

Java (Spring Boot) . Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features. Architect solutions with a strong focus on

performance ,

scalability , and

maintainability . Write unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure high code quality. Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and establish best practices in coding and design. Contribute to microservices architecture and participate in design and implementation decisions. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks. Participate in Agile / Scrum ceremonies and contribute to project planning and estimation. Qualifications

7+ years

of professional Java development experience. Strong hands-on experience with

Spring Boot ,

Spring MVC ,

Spring Data , and

Spring Security . Deep understanding of

RESTful API design

and best practices. Proficiency in

Java 11+

(Java 17+ preferred). Experience with

multithreading ,

concurrency , and

asynchronous programming

in Java. Solid knowledge of software design patterns and principles (OOP, SOLID, DDD, etc.). Experience with

build tools

like Maven or Gradle. Strong understanding of

unit testing

(JUnit, Mockito) and

integration testing . Familiarity with

Docker ,

Kubernetes , or container-based development. Knowledge of

CI / CD tools

(e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). Comfortable with version control systems (Git), code reviews, and collaborative development. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Seniority level
