HSE Inspector

Parsons is looking for a diligent HSE Inspector to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of construction sites, specifically for sewerage, surface, and ground water networks projects, carry out regular site inspections, ensure safety protocols are followed, and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel on-site.
What You'll Be Doing :
Conducting regular site inspections to identify safety hazards and ensure all construction activities, especially those related to sewerage, surface, and ground water network projects, are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Ensuring that all safety equipment (including PPE) is properly used by workers and contractors, conducting checks to confirm that safety measures are maintained.
Monitoring work areas, identifying unsafe work practices, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks related to trenching, excavation, confined spaces, and other water network-related activities.
Assisting with safety audits, reviewing safety protocols, and verifying compliance with local, national, and international safety standards.
Reporting unsafe conditions or behaviors on-site and ensuring immediate action is taken to address them, particularly in high-risk areas such as sewerage, water networks, and deep excavation work.
Assisting with accident investigations, documenting incidents and injuries, conducting root cause analysis, and helping to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinating with site engineers and other team members to ensure safety measures are effectively communicated and followed by all personnel.
Reviewing safety documentation and ensuring that records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety reports are properly maintained and up to date.
Assisting in the development and implementation of safety plans, specifically related to sewerage, surface, and ground water network projects, including hazard mitigation and emergency response plans.
Participating in safety training and awareness programs to ensure workers are aware of safety risks and how to mitigate them, particularly those associated with underground works, trenching, and excavation in water network projects.
Performing regular checks on safety signage and ensuring that site-specific hazards are clearly communicated to workers and visitors.
Collaborating with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
What Required Skills You'll Bring :
Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety , or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a safety inspection role within construction or engineering , with a minimum of 5 years in sewerage, surface, and ground water network projects or similar infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards related to sewerage, drainage, and water network construction, including excavation, trenching, confined spaces, and dewatering systems.
Ability to identify hazards and unsafe work practices in construction environments, particularly in sewerage, surface, and ground water network projects.
Proficiency in conducting safety inspections, reporting findings, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document safety reports, communicate hazards to workers, and coordinate with project teams.
Experience with safety equipment and PPE and ensuring its proper use on-site.
Knowledge of emergency response procedures, especially in relation to accidents or incidents occurring in sewerage and water network projects, such as trench collapses and confined space work.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with other safety professionals, engineers, and workers to maintain site safety.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring :
Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent health and safety training would be a strong advantage.
Experience working in the Gulf region, with a strong understanding of local regulations and industry safety standards for sewerage and water network projects.
Experience in inspecting trenching, excavation, and dewatering works, specifically for sewerage, surface, and ground water network systems.
Experience with safety management software or systems to track safety inspections, incidents, and compliance.
Familiarity with environmental health and safety issues related to construction, particularly for sewerage and water network projects.
Experience in providing on-the-job safety training for workers, especially those in high-risk activities like excavation, trenching, and confined space work.
Ability to work collaboratively with contractors and subcontractors to ensure that safety standards are consistently followed across all stages of the project.
Proactive attitude and attention to detail in identifying potential hazards and recommending preventive actions.
