We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a Senior Project Engineer - Marine

Job Purpose

This role supports the Head of Section in managing marine engineering activities related to the design, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of marine works within Major Projects, ensuring alignment with the Company’s strategy, commitments, and goals.

The position provides specialized technical guidance in marine engineering, including problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analysis of marine infrastructure and facilities, applying innovative and analytical techniques to achieve Project objectives. The role‑holder is also responsible for promoting, adhering to, and ensuring compliance with QAFCO’s Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Energy, and Quality systems and standards.

Key Accountabilities

Marine Engineering Design & Technical Management

• Lead the review, coordination, and integration of marine engineering deliverables (jetties, quay walls, revetments, breakwaters, dredging, marine pipelines).
• Review and accept technical specifications for all marine systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with Project specifications and international standards (API, BS, DNV, PIANC).
• Coordinate with EPCC Contractor and Subcontractor (design consultants) to resolve technical queries and ensure timely issuance of Issued‑for‑Construction (IFC) documents.
• Review and validate design calculations, drawings, and specifications for constructability, operability, and maintainability.

Procurement, Bid Evaluation & Subcontractor Documentation

Interface & Multidisciplinary Coordination

Fabrication, Inspection & Expediting

Profile

Ideally, you should hold a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years on major projects.

Experience in Marine Engineering Design and Technical Management is essential.

You should also possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a good level of computer literacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
