Storage and Backup Senior Specialist

Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused. Lead the design and implementation of cloud and on-prem storage and backup systems. Evaluate and deploy next-generation storage and data protection technologies. Oversee capacity planning, performance optimization, and monitoring. Establish standards, policies, and disaster recovery procedures. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data availability and compliance. Automate provisioning, reporting, and monitoring tasks. Ensure consistent protection across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Lead root cause analysis for complex storage incidents. Maintain architecture documents and operational runbooks. Provide mentorship and contribute to continuous process improvement. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. One or more advanced certifications such as : Azure Storage Specialist or AZ-104 AWS Advanced Networking or Storage Specialty Dell EMC Specialist / Expert, NetApp Certified (Professional level) Commvault Certified Expert (CCE), Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA), or Veritas Certified Professional ITIL Intermediate or higher 10–12 years of IT experience. 5–7 years of specialization in storage, backup, and disaster recovery. Proven experience designing and leading hybrid enterprise storage architectures. Experience in performance optimization, capacity planning, and automation.
Job-Specific Skills
- Expertise in SAN, NAS, and object storage systems.
- Strong experience with backup, replication, and data recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in cloud-native storage technologies (Azure, AWS).
- Skilled in high availability architectures, lifecycle management, and data reduction techniques.
- Strong scripting automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
- Experience with cross-region replication and DR solutions (ASR, Zerto).
- Understanding of compliance, encryption, and security frameworks.
- Experience with monitoring platforms (Zabbix, SolarWinds, NetApp Active IQ).
- Knowledge of archival and tiered storage optimization.
