Job Purpose
To manage the installation, maintenance, and reliable operation of all electrical systems within the facilities, including power distribution, lighting, security systems, and emergency power infrastructure, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical System Management : Oversee the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of all low and high-voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, distribution panels, and building wiring.
- Emergency Power : Manage and test critical systems such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and associated fuel systems to ensure 24 / 7 power reliability.
- Lighting and Controls : Maintain and upgrade interior and exterior lighting systems, including energy-efficient solutions and lighting control systems.
- Project Oversight : Plan and execute electrical infrastructure projects, including system capacity upgrades, installation of new equipment, and power hookups for renovations, ensuring adherence to electrical codes and specifications.
- Compliance and Safety : Ensure all electrical installations and maintenance activities strictly comply with NFPA, NEC, and local electrical codes, standards, and safety protocols.
- Troubleshooting and Analysis : Conduct root cause analysis for electrical faults and system failures, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Documentation : Maintain up-to-date electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, load schedules, and maintenance records for all facility electrical assets.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education : Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized university.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of practical experience focused on the design, operation, maintenance, and management of electrical systems in large commercial or government facilities.Skills :Expert knowledge of power distribution, protective relaying, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
Proven experience with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical components and safety procedures.Experience managing vendors for electrical services, including generator and UPS maintenance.Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) integration with electrical and fire alarm systems.Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable.
