About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Consultant to lead and support database migrations to the cloud and manage cloud-based DBA operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep Oracle expertise and proven experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – OCI).

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end Oracle database migrations to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP).
Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native database architectures.
Provide ongoing cloud-based DBA operations support, including backup / recovery, patching, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with application teams to ensure seamless database integration and minimal downtime.
Configure and manage HA / DR solutions (e.g., Data Guard, GoldenGate).
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Monitor cloud resources, optimize performance, and manage cost-effective cloud usage.
Ensure compliance with security and governance standards for cloud databases.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8+ years of Oracle DBA experience with strong fundamentals.

Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c / 19c and above in Linux / Unix environments.

Proven expertise in cloud database migrations (at least one major cloud provider).

Solid understanding of cloud database services : RDS, Oracle Autonomous DB, etc.

Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and GoldenGate.

Proficient in SQL tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

Experience with automation / scripting tools and CI / CD pipelines.

Familiarity with ITIL or operational best practices for cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Database Administration.

Experience with multi-cloud environments.

Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized DB deployments.

Familiarity with DevOps practices in a DBA context.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Nice to Have

Experience with other databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) in cloud environments.

Familiarity with database refactoring, modernization, or re-platforming initiatives.
