Position Overview :
The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that Raffles & Fairmont Doha complies with all safety regulations and that the work environment is safe for all employees and guests. The role involves monitoring workplace activities to ensure that staff and guests follow company policies and government safety regulations, as well as facilitating training programs to prevent accidents and injuries. This position also entails investigating accidents, preparing reports, and recommending preventive measures.
Key Responsibilities :
Monitor and ensure compliance with Qatar’s safety laws, regulations, and company policies.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate safety risks within the hotel premises.
Develop, coordinate, and conduct safety training programs for employees on topics such as fire safety, health and safety regulations, evacuation procedures, etc.
Investigate any incidents or accidents, including near-miss events, within the hotel premises.
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency evacuation and disaster recovery plans.
Prepare reports on safety violations, accidents, and unsafe working conditions, and suggest remedial actions.
Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities and insurance providers regarding safety compliance and incident investigation.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably within the hospitality industry or similar.
Strong knowledge of Qatari health and safety regulations and international best practices.
