Senior Business Analyst (student Financial Services)

Job Description

Job Summary :

The Senior Business Analyst – Student Financial Services is responsible for analysing and optimizing financial processes and systems that support student billing, payments, financial aid, Scholarship Process and related services. The role provides strategic insights through data analysis, identifies areas for operational improvement, and supports the design and implementation of financial solutions to enhance student experience and institutional efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

Analyze business processes related to student accounts, tuition billing, payment plans, financial aid disbursements, and refunds to identify areas for improvement.

Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools that provide actionable insights for decision-makers.

Lead or support projects to implement or enhance systems such as student information systems (SIS), ERP platforms, or payment solutions.

Collaborate with IT, Enrolment, Financial Aid, and other departments to ensure data integrity and smooth integration of financial processes.

Gather and document business requirements through interviews, process mapping, and data analysis.

Recommend and help implement technology-driven solutions to improve student financial services operations.

Conduct testing, training, and change management for new systems or process updates.

Provide analytical support for budgeting, forecasting, and revenue collection strategies.

Monitor compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

2 to 5 years of experience in business analysis within student financial services, Scholarship Process, higher education, or a related finance function.

Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).

Strong understanding of student information systems and financial platforms (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday, Ellucian).

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Experience in project management or business process improvement is a plus.
