Job Objective
As a Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QA / QC) Inspector for the SPM Buoy construction project, your role will be crucial in ensuring the quality and compliance of products, processes, and systems throughout the construction phase. You will conduct inspections, tests, and audits, identify deviations from standards, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Your expertise ensures compliance with customer requirements, industry regulations, and international QA / QC standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Quality Control Inspections and Testing
Inspect materials, components, and equipment used in SPM Buoy construction to verify compliance with standards and specifications.
Use proper measurement tools to assess dimensions, materials, and workmanship.
Document non-conformities and maintain detailed inspection records.
Quality Control Audits and Documentation
Conduct internal audits for compliance with quality systems and construction procedures.
Review quality documentation like inspection reports, test records, and audit logs.
Ensure proper and updated documentation specific to the SPM Buoy project.
Corrective and Preventive Actions
Investigate quality issues and safety concerns; identify root causes.
Implement corrective / preventive actions and collaborate across departments.
Monitor effectiveness of actions to avoid recurrence of issues.
Quality Assurance Processes
Support development and implementation of QA procedures tailored to the SPM Buoy project.
Communicate quality insights to management and project teams.
Participate in reviews and approvals of construction procedures and quality plans.
Recommend and implement quality improvements.
Compliance and Safety
Stay current with relevant industry regulations and offshore construction standards.
Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards during construction.
Assist in regulatory inspections and provide documentation when required.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect and analyze inspection / test data and quality metrics.
Prepare reports highlighting findings, trends, and improvement areas.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Marine Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience & Certifications
7–8 years of diversified experience in EPCC projects (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refineries).
Minimum 2–3 years of end-to-end construction phase experience.
Must possess valid certifications (1.5–2 years remaining validity preferred) :
CSWIP 3.1 – Certified Welding Inspector
BGAS Grade 01 / 02 or NACE Level I / II – Certified Coating Inspector
ISO 9001 : 2015 QMS Lead Auditor (IRCA-UK approved body)
ASNT NDT Level II – RT, UT, PT, MT
Geographic Experience
GCC experience preferred, with reputable EPCC contractors or clients.
Communication & Presentation
Flexible, adaptable QA / QC approach aligned with team directives.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks (or similar).
Knowledge of SAP or Oracle systems is preferred.
Language
Very good command of written and spoken English.
