Job Description
Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to manage all aspects of instrumentation engineering and installation related to the QRH (Qatar Residual Heat) and BAS (Building Automation System) . The role involves overseeing signal cabling, PLC integration, interfacing with telecom systems, and ensuring compliance with QatarEnergy control system requirements and relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage the engineering and installation of instrumentation systems for QRH and BAS.
Oversee signal cabling, sensor deployment, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) integration.
Ensure seamless interface and integration with telecom and control systems.
Review and validate vendor documents, drawings, and technical submittals.
Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Lead loop checking and functional testing of instrumentation systems.
Supervise and coordinate the work of instrument technicians and contractors.
Ensure full compliance with IEC standards , QatarEnergy requirements , and local regulations .
Collaborate with construction and commissioning teams to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Troubleshoot issues during installation, commissioning, and handover phases.
Maintain proper documentation, including red-line drawings and as-built records.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within oil & gas, utilities, or industrial automation sectors.
Proven experience with PLC systems , loop checking , and FAT / SAT procedures .
Strong understanding of IEC standards , QatarEnergy specifications , and control system integration.
Hands-on experience with field instrumentation , signal cabling , and system interfaces .
Effective communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
